Forum
Hi everyone!
I’ve been diving deeper into mutual fund themes recently, and something that caught my eye after a lot of research is Consumption mutual funds. I’m trying to figure out whether it’s a good idea to include them in my portfolio this year — and I’d love to hear what this community thinks.
From what I understand, consumption mutual funds invest in sectors that benefit from consumer spending — like FMCG, retail, automobiles, consumer durables, etc. With India's rising income levels and growing demand for branded goods and services, this theme seems like it has strong potential in the long run.
That said, I know that thematic funds can carry some extra risk due to their focused nature. That’s why I’m thinking about starting a SIP instead of going in with a lump sum. A Best SIP strategy over time might help balance out market volatility while still capturing long-term growth.
Some mutual funds are already being talked about as the best consumption mutual fund options, but I’m a little unsure which ones are really worth it. Performance numbers look good, but I’d prefer hearing from actual investors here rather than just relying on articles.
So, here’s what I’d love to ask the forum:
- Are consumption funds a good idea for new investors in 2025?
- Which one would you personally consider the best consumption mutual fund right now?
- Is a SIP the ideal route for investing in this theme, or does lump sum work better?
- How long should one ideally stay invested in these kinds of funds?
I believe discussions like this help all of us learn and invest smarter. Whether you’re a beginner or seasoned investor, your thoughts and experience would mean a lot.
Looking forward to your insights!
