The IELTS exam pattern varies slightly between the Academic and General Training versions. Both versions have the same Listening and Speaking tests. However, the Reading and Writing sections differ. In the Academic version, Reading passages are more research-based, and Writing Task 1 involves interpreting data from charts or graphs. In contrast, the General version focuses on everyday workplace or social situations in Reading and involves letter writing in Task 1. Despite these differences, both formats assess language proficiency in a comprehensive manner.
