Mr. Faisan is currently working as an Associate Researcher and the Commodity Team Leader for Seaweeds at the Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center Aquaculture Department (SEAFDEC/AQD) in Tigbauan, Iloilo, Philippines. He is also involved as an Early Career Researcher for the Research Councils UK Global Challenge Research Fund (GCRF) Global SeaweedSTAR Programme on the ‘Safeguarding the seaweed aquaculture industry of the developing countries’ like the Philippines, Malaysia and Tanzania since October 2017 to December 2021. His work focuses on the disease and pest detection of the project. He just recently published a paper at Journal of Applied Phycology on pests and diseases affecting eucheumatoid seaweed farms in the Philippines. Mr. Faisan finished his MS Fisheries (Aquaculture) degree from the University of the Philippines Visayas in 2019.
